We are excited to partner with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) this December for outdoor education and fun. Students will spend the day on top of Aspen Mountain with ACES learning about snow science, winter ecology, animal tracking, and winter survival.
All students will be expected to participate in the middle school trip, Our excursion to ACES is planned for Tuesday, December 11th. We will be outside at 11,000 feet for the entire day. Students need to be prepared for cold, wet, and rapidly changing weather. Proper clothing and gear are essential to your child being safe and having an enjoyable trip. If your child does not have proper gear please let Riverview know as soon as possible so that we can find some gear for them!
The cost of the day at ACES is $15 per student. Funding for families who can’t cover this cost will be available. Families who are interested in sponsoring another student’s experience at ACES are encouraged to contribute any amount of money. We greatly appreciate your generosity!
Students should pack a lunch. Riverview School can provide packed-lunch to students who need them; however, your student’s teacher will need to be notified in advance to allow the cafeteria enough time to make the lunch.
Please complete the attached district permission form for your student as soon as possible. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Romanyshyn (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mr. Forbes (email@example.com)
